and Transphobia
(IDAHOBIT) is observed
globally to raise awareness
of the discrimination,
violence, and challenges
faced by individuals in the
LGBTQIA+ community.
For employers, recognising
IDAHOBIT highlights the
commitment to fostering a
workplace culture that values
diversity and actively supports
LGBTQIA+ employees.
Employer Inclusion Tips
To promote and champion a LGBTQIA inclusive workplace employers
can do the following:
Diversity and
Inclusion Policies
Develop and communicate
clear policies supporting
LGBTQIA+ employees,
enforcing zero-tolerance
to discrimination.
Supportive Networks
Establish LGBTQIA+
employee resource groups
to platforms for connection,
support, and advocacy
within the workplace.
Pronoun Inclusivity
Training and
Workshops
Provide diversity
and inclusion training to
increase awareness of
LGBTQIA+ challenges
in the workplace which
promote active allyship.
Encourage the use of
pronouns in communications
and offer training to ensure
respectful pronoun use.
Celebratory Events
Organise events during
Pride Month or on
IDAHOBIT to celebrate
LGBTQIA+ contributions,
histories, and achievements.
